German automaker, Volkswagen has unveiled the 2011 edition of its top-selling vehicle Caddy in Europe.

The new Caddy is mainly an upgrade to the outgoing model. The major changes to the exterior of the car are apparent. The company has not disclosed information about the pricing or launch date for the car.

Available in five-seater and light commercial van variants, the new 2011 Caddy has a removable second seating row on all models. Caddy will have 3030 litres of storage while Caddy Maxi will have 3880 litres for storage.

The upgraded version will be powered by new turbocharged, direct-injected petrol and diesel engines. The car will have four variants of diesel engine with an output of 55kW, 77kW, 82kW and 105kW.

The 77kW and 105kW diesel will feature six-speed DSG transmission while 82kW engine will come with 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. The users also have the option to choose Volkswagen's BlueMotion technology, featuring Start/Stop and a regenerative braking system with the 55kW and 77kW engines.

The company will offer two petrol variants of Volkswagen's turbo-charged four-cylinder 1.2 litre TSI with an output of 65kW and 78kW.

The car is expected to first feature in Germany in September and in other countries around the world. The panel van model is expected to cost about _13,595 while the Startline is expected to be priced at _14,205.
